Deputy Manager – Domiciliary Care
We're looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join a multi-award-winning, family-run domiciliary care provider on a 12-month fixed-term contract to cover maternity leave.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated care leader to join an established and successful branch, supporting the Registered Manager in delivering high-quality, person-centred care while leading and developing a dedicated team of care professionals.

The Role
As Deputy Manager, you will support the Registered Manager with the day-to-day running of the Ripley branch, ensuring exceptional standards of care, compliance, safeguarding, and staff performance are maintained.
This is a planned maternity cover position, allowing for a comprehensive handover period before the successful candidate takes full responsibility for the role.
You will help lead a team of over 30 care staff, manage a caseload of clients, oversee quality assurance processes, and act as the Registered Manager's delegate in their absence.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the operational management of the service
- Providing visible leadership, coaching, supervision, and support to a team of over 30 care staff
- Conducting performance reviews, absence management meetings, and staff development discussions
- Supporting recruitment, induction, and ongoing workforce development
- Managing client assessments, care planning, reviews, and onboarding processes
- Ensuring care plans remain person-centred, compliant, and regularly updated
- Completing risk assessments and six-monthly client reviews
- Supporting medication governance, including eMAR audits and medication compliance
- Investigating incidents, complaints, and safeguarding concerns
- Liaising with healthcare professionals, local authorities, and external agencies
- Monitoring service quality and driving continuous improvement
- Contributing to branch growth and service development
- Participating in the management on-call rota
- Acting as the Registered Manager's delegate during periods of absence
About You
We are looking for a compassionate, organised, and proactive leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding care and supporting teams to achieve their full potential.
You will:
- Hold a Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
- Have at least 1 year's hands-on care experience within a health or social care setting
- Have a minimum of 3 years' management experience within health and social care
- Have a strong understanding of safeguarding, quality assurance, and care compliance
- Be experienced using digital care planning systems, rota software, and management systems
- Have excellent written communication and organisational skills
- Be confident managing performance, quality, and operational responsibilities
- Demonstrate strong leadership and decision-making skills
- Be able to effectively prioritise and manage multiple responsibilities
- Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own vehicle
