About Solidcor
Solidcor is Britain's fastest-growing fire door manufacturer. We were built in the aftermath of Grenfell by founders who saw the need for rapid change, and our mission has stayed the same since: make volume fire door replacement possible within days, not months, and help the industry achieve compliance and community safety fast.
Our R-Series and T-Series doorsets pair a solid, fire-resistant timber core with a maintenance-free finish, backed by the widest range of primary-tested configurations in the industry and an industry-leading 10-day production turnaround — the fastest in the market. We're trusted by NHS trusts, housing associations, contractors and communities across the UK to deliver doors that protect lives, fast.
We're changing how we recruit. We're not filling seats — we're building a team of the best people in the industry, and we're prepared to pay above the going rate to do it.
A New Factory. A New Standard.
2026 is the year Solidcor moves into a brand-new, state-of-the-art production facility, built from the ground up around a completely new way of working. We're investing in machinery imported from America, Italy, Spain and China — some of the most capable door-manufacturing technology in the world, brought together under one roof.
We're already best in class. This move is how we become world class. We're building an elite team of craftspeople who want to embrace that new way of working from day one and help take Solidcor to the next level.
The Role
As Production Shift Lead, you'll take full ownership of running a Solidcor production shift — leading teams across multiple departments to keep the factory delivering safe, high-quality output at pace. This is a genuinely hands-on leadership role: you're on the shop floor, not behind a desk, working closely with the Operations and Production Managers on other shifts to keep the whole factory performing to the standard our name depends on. You’ll be passionate about cleanliness and Tidiness and believe in SIC.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full responsibility for running your production shift, start to finish.
- Deliver the daily production plan against safety, quality, delivery and cost targets.
- Maintain rigorous health & safety, quality and operational standards across the shift.
- Lead and support supervisors and operators across every department on shift.
- Resolve issues affecting production, materials, equipment or staffing quickly and decisively.
- Keep output and performance on track even when the pressure is on.
- Communicate clearly with senior management, providing accurate shift updates.
This Role Will Suit Someone Who
- Has led a production or manufacturing shift before.
- Is a strong, decisive leader, comfortable making the call under pressure.
- Genuinely enjoys being hands-on on the shop floor, not managing from a distance.
- Stays calm and focused when things go wrong.
- Takes real ownership and accountability for results, not just activity.
Essential Experience
- Experience leading teams in a manufacturing or production environment.
- A track record of delivering production targets.
- Strong understanding of health & safety in a factory setting.
- Confident problem solver and decision maker.
Our Values — What We Actually Hire For
- Athlete's Grit — you keep the shift pushing for the target even when it's hard-won, and you don't settle for an easier number.
- Captain's Duty — you own your shift's results and safety in full — problems get solved on your watch, not passed to the next one.
- Fun-Loving Heart — you lead people, not just a process, and you keep morale up on the floor even when the pressure's on.
