About Rise
Rise is a neighbourhood bakery on the Exmouth seafront, proudly part of a small South West bakery group. All our bread, pastries, and baked goods are made fresh each day at our commercial bakery and delivered to the team in Exmouth, where the focus is on great retail service, quality coffee, and creating a friendly, welcoming experience for everyone who walks through the door.
The Role
We’re looking for a Store Supervisor to support the day‑to‑day running of Rise Exmouth. Working closely with the Site Manager, you’ll help oversee the retail counter, coffee service, and general shop‑floor operations, keeping standards high and the atmosphere positive.
Key Responsibilities
- Store operations — support daily routines including opening and closing
- Shift leadership — guide and support the team, stepping in across counter and coffee bar
- Product presentation — maintain quality and visual standards for bakery displays and coffee service
- Food hygiene — uphold safe handling, storage, and cleanliness practices
- Stock management — manage deliveries, rotation, stock levels, and wastage
- Customer service — deliver warm, attentive service and resolve customer queries
- Cash handling — assist with till operations and end‑of‑day reconciliation
What We’re Looking For
- Experience in a retail, café, or food‑service environment, ideally with supervisory responsibility
- Strong barista skills — confident in coffee preparation and service
- Excellent customer service and a proactive, hands‑on approach
- Ability to lead a small team during busy periods
- Good understanding of food hygiene (or willingness to train)
- Availability to work both Saturday and Sunday
- Flexible availability across 4–5 days per week
Pay: £14.00 per hour
Experience:
- Supervising: 2 years (required)
- Barista: 1 year (required)
