An opportunity has arisen for a Warehouse Operative to join our team who are based in our Warehouse facility.
This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality control.
Reporting into the Stock Control/Production Coordinator, the primary purpose of this role is to pick and pack customer orders accurately as requested, and to assist in the brush painting of some fabricated products when required. You may also be required to assist with tasks within the Goods In and dispatch areas.
Key Duties and responsibilities of the job will include:
- The operation of Man ups and Forklift Trucks (includes the operation of vehicles on the public highways) and other equipment safely and efficiently
- Picking orders in an accurate and timely manner from racking/stillages
- Completing checks to ensure that all castings/goods are of an acceptable quality before packing
- Reporting of any issues to the Stock Control/Production Coordinator
- Conduct materials handling tasks, including sorting, picking, packing and storing goods in their designated areas
- Correctly packing and labeling goods in a neat and tidy manner
- Double checking other team members picks/packs to ensure accuracy and quality
- Communicate with the stock control/production coordinator with regards to all bonded stock
- The loading and unloading of goods from and onto the correct transport vehicles ensuring the use of proper handling to prevent damage
- The emptying of containers using the ramp and a Forklift Truck
- Assist in the brush painting of fabricated products when required
- Transportation of goods/waste materials using company vehicles
- General responsibility for the cleanliness of the workplace
- Follow Safe Systems of Work and all other Health and Safety requirements
- Conduct tasks in line with current work instructions and Safe Systems of Work requirements
- To work in all other areas of the warehouse/ drainage business when required
Skills & Experience required include:
- Previous Warehouse experience (essential)
- Experience and knowledge of drainage products (desirable)
- Experience and knowledge of Pick Pack, Good In and Dispatch processes (essential)
- Ability to pick and count accurately (essential)
- Ability to handle heavy loads ( Manual Handling)
- Attention to detail
- Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
- Able to work without direct supervision
- Reliable and able to work flexibly
- Current FLT Licence (essential)
- Full Driving Licence (essential)
The standard hours of work each week will be 39 hours:
Monday – Thursday 07.45 – 16.30
Friday – 08.00 – 14.30
