Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver for Collections to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting goods and materials efficiently while maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role involves operating various types of vehicles, including commercial lorries, to ensure timely and secure collection processes across designated routes. A valid driver’s licence and experience in delivery or commercial driving are essential for this position.
Duties
- Safely operate company vehicles, including lorries and vans, to collect goods from clients’ premises.
- Plan and follow efficient collection routes to optimise time and fuel consumption.
- Load and unload items, often requiring heavy lifting, ensuring items are secured properly during transit.
- Maintain accurate records of collections made, including documentation and delivery notes.
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding collection schedules and any delays or issues encountered.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after shifts to ensure safety standards are met.
- Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and company policies during operations.
- Assist with warehouse tasks when necessary, including organising collections and managing stock movement.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar commercial driving role.
- Valid <PERSON> driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, often handling bulky or heavy items.
- Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
