Angus Dundee Distillers PLC is currently recruiting for a Quality Technician to join our Coatbridge facility. This is an initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of extension, subject to business needs.
This is a fantastic opportunity to join a busy, friendly team. Reporting to the Quality Manager, you will be working within our laboratory which is a key part of our Company’s mission to supply high quality, bottled products worldwide.
Main Duties:
You will be required to contribute to the quality control process and carry out and record all quality control and bottling line quality checks. Additionally, you will be required to contribute to continuous improvements with a key focus on quality throughout all processes.
Your main duties will include but will not be limited to:
-Overseeing, recording and reporting all quality aspects in relation to all Operational functions.
-Carrying out all bottling line checks including:
- Spirit strength
- Fill height checks
- Turbidity
- Colour
- Packaging quality and application
- Coding
- Materials
- Operator checks
- Organoleptic checks
-Providing support and cover for all aspects of the Laboratory & QC functions.
-Raising NCRs and quarantining stock when required.
-Supporting and being fully involved with organoleptic sampling & testing.
-Providing laboratory support for bulk spirit departments.
-Monitoring product water quality, ensuring compliance with required standards.
-Maintaining high laboratory and analytical standards to the equivalent of Good Laboratory Practice.
-Carrying out random cased stock checks in warehouse.

- The ideal candidate for this role will have:
- Extensive knowledge and experience of working within a spirits industry laboratory environment
- Experience of checking and maintaining bottling quality
- Great attention to detail.
- Excellent problem solving skills and the ability to work on your own initiative.
- The ability to work as part of a team, ensuring all work is carried out to a high standard and in line with the company requirements.
- The ability to manage numerous tasks whilst managing your time effectively.
