The role:
This is an ideal opportunity for someone practical who wants to build a long-term career in the HVAC industry.
You'll work alongside experienced engineers every day, assisting with installations, servicing, maintenance and repairs while learning the skills required to become a qualified Air Conditioning Engineer. Full training will be provided, including health and safety, with ongoing support from experienced members of the team.
Our aim is to develop you into a fully competent engineer over the next 2-3 years, giving you the knowledge, practical experience and confidence to progress within the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of commercial air conditioning systems.
- Prepare tools, equipment and materials for site work.
- Support engineers with lifting, positioning and installation of equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment.
- Learn safe working practices and comply with company health and safety procedures.
- Develop technical knowledge through practical, hands-on experience.
- Complete basic paperwork as required.
- Represent the company professionally when working on customer sites.
Essential Qualities
- Practical and hands-on with a willingness to learn.
- Motivated, reliable and eager to build a career.
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
- Good communication skills.
- Lives within a reasonable commuting distance of Lichfield, North Birmingham.
- Full UK driving licence is highly desirable.
Career Progression
This is more than just an assistant role. We are looking for someone with the ambition to become a qualified engineer. Over approximately two years, you'll receive the training, experience and support needed to develop into an Air Conditioning Engineer with opportunities for further progression as your skills continue to grow.
