Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced AI Training & Knowledge Transfer Consultant to support the delivery of a national training and capability-building programme for a network of approximately 40–45 Local Visitor Economy Partnerships (LVEPs) across England.
The successful candidate will design and deliver practical training focused on helping LVEP teams understand, interpret and apply AI, data and analytical tools within their regions.
The role will involve translating potentially complex AI and data concepts into accessible, practical training, with a particular focus on how insights can be used to support tourism product development, reporting, decision-making and regional strategy.
The consultant may also be required to work closely with a separate technical supplier responsible for developing an AI/data audit and analytical tool.
Key Responsibilities
The consultant will:
- Design a structured training and knowledge-transfer programme for approximately 40–45 geographically dispersed LVEP organisations.
- Deliver engaging live virtual workshops and webinars covering AI, data and digital tools.
- Develop practical training showing users how to understand and apply outputs from an AI/data audit and analytical tool.
- Help LVEP teams translate data and AI-generated insights into practical tourism and product-development decisions.
- Develop deeper-dive sessions around identified AI use cases, including:
- Using AI to research and produce reports.
- Microsoft Copilot and other generative AI tools.
- Using AI to analyse and summarise information.
- Practical applications of AI within regional tourism organisations.
- Responsible and appropriate use of AI.
- Create supporting learning materials including:
- Webinar presentations.
- Recorded training content.
- User guides.
- Practical exercises.
- Templates and worked examples.
- Written guidance and reference materials.
- Adapt training content for users with different levels of digital and technical capability.
- Gather participant feedback and continuously improve the training programme.
- Support knowledge transfer so LVEP teams are able to use the tools and approaches independently after the programme concludes.
- Work collaboratively with the technical team responsible for the audit and analytical tool.
- Contribute to the development of a clear process map explaining how the technical solution and training programme work together.
- Attend project meetings and provide progress updates where required.
Essential Experience
Candidates should demonstrate:
- Experience designing and delivering professional training, workshops or knowledge-transfer programmes.
- Strong understanding of artificial intelligence, generative AI, data analytics or digital technologies.
- Experience explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience delivering remote or blended learning programmes.
- Experience facilitating webinars or virtual workshops for geographically dispersed participants.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Ability to create clear, professional training materials and user guidance.
- Ability to work collaboratively with technical teams, stakeholders and external organisations.
- Strong project-management and organisational skills.
Desirable Experience
It would be advantageous to have experience in one or more of the following:
- Microsoft Copilot or the wider Microsoft 365 AI ecosystem.
- ChatGPT or other generative AI platforms.
- Data analytics and data visualisation.
- AI-assisted reporting and research.
- Tourism, destination management or the visitor economy.
- Working with local authorities, public-sector organisations or regional partnerships.
- Training organisations with varying levels of digital maturity.
- Change management, digital adoption or organisational capability building.
- Responsible AI, data governance or AI ethics.
Key Skills
The ideal candidate will be:
- A confident trainer and facilitator.
- Comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Able to simplify complex AI and data concepts.
- Practical and outcomes-focused.
- Experienced in designing interactive learning rather than lecture-based training.
- Comfortable adapting content based on participant feedback.
