Vegetation Operative – Highway Maintenance Contract
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Vegetation Operative to join our highway maintenance team. This role is essential in keeping roadside verges, footways, and highway boundaries safe, tidy, and compliant with contract standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out strimming and vegetation control along highways, verges, and public rights of way
- Operate strimmers, hedge cutters and associated equipment safely and efficiently
- Work as part of a mobile maintenance team across designated routes
- Follow all health & safety procedures, including traffic management requirements
- Complete daily activity records and report any issues or hazards
- Maintain tools and equipment to a high standard
Requirements
- Previous experience in strimming or grounds maintenance
- Full UK driving licence (essential for mobile works)
- Good awareness of working safely near live traffic
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically fit and able to undertake manual tasks
