Playball Coach (Part-Time – Saturdays)

Playball is a specialist foundation phase sport and movement programme, offering six age-appropriate, year-long programmes for children aged 2–6 years. Our sessions help children develop confidence, physical skills, coordination and a lifelong love of movement through fun, engaging and structured activities.
We are looking for a sporty, enthusiastic and reliable coach to join our team on a part-time basis. This role would suit someone who is passionate about working with young children and enjoys creating a fun, energetic learning environment.
About the Role:
- Saturday mornings: 9am - 11:15am (three 45-minute classes)
- Deliver engaging Playball classes by following the Playball curriculum.
- Create a positive, encouraging environment where every child feels supported and succeeds.
- Build excellent relationships with parents through clear and professional communication.
- Complete written progress reports for each child twice per year.
- Maintain high coaching standards and represent the Playball brand professionally at all times.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with young children through coaching, teaching, childcare or a similar role.
- Is confident leading groups of children independently.
- Has a warm, enthusiastic and professional manner.
- Is energetic, organised, punctual and reliable.
- Has excellent spoken and written English.
- Holds a full UK driving licence and has access to a car.
- Holds an Enhanced DBS certificate and a valid First Aid qualification.
- Has a genuine passion for helping children develop confidence through sport and movement.
Desirable:
- Experience in sports coaching, PE or Early Years education.
- Relevant coaching, teaching or childcare qualifications.
- A sporting background.
Location:
Saturday classes are based at Tower House School, East Sheen, SW14 8LF.
Hours:
- Saturdays: 9am – 11:15am
- Three 45-minute classes each week during term time.
- Holiday Camps: 9am - 1pm
Start Date:
Training will begin in August. Your shadowing of classes will start on Monday the 7th of September. Taking control of your own classes will be Saturday the 26th of September.
Training & Pay:
We provide comprehensive Playball training, all coaching equipment and your Playball uniform.
Before training begins, you will be required to observe a number of Playball classes to familiarise yourself with the programme. The number of observation sessions required will depend on your previous experience. Please note that observation sessions are unpaid.
During your training period(shadowing of classes), you will be paid £15 per class. Once you are coaching your own classes you will be paid £20 per class.
As you gain experience, there is the opportunity to earn up to £30 per hour. Applicants with relevant coaching experience may be considered for a higher starting rate.
Playball coaches are also required to attend two compulsory training workshops each year. These are usually held on Saturdays, with dates provided well in advance.
Holiday Camps:
During school holidays and half terms we run Playball Holiday Camps, offering additional paid work.
