Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled HGV Fitter / Mobile Fitter to join our team. This role involves performing maintenance, repairs, and diagnostics on heavy goods vehicles and mobile plant equipment at various locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical expertise, with experience in fabrication, welding, and using hand and power tools. Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on HGVs, and other mobile plant equipment.
- Diagnose faults using schematics and electrical diagrams; perform necessary repairs or replacements.
- Fabricate or modify components as required, including welding
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment to carry out repairs, assembly, and maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and company standards.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs undertaken.
- Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding repair status and recommendations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in heavy vehicle or mobile plant repair,
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; physically fit to handle demanding tasks.
- Knowledge of electrical systems within heavy vehicles is advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose faults efficiently.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple jobs across different locations.
- Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating mobile plant equipment is preferred but not essential. This position offers a challenging yet rewarding environment for experienced technicians committed to maintaining high standards of safety and quality in heavy vehicle maintenance.
Pay: From £20.00 per hour
