Job Purpose
As a 7.5 Tonne Driver, you will be carrying out deliveries and pick-ups of trolleys and handling equipment, servicing our various UK based food retailer clients
Coupled with that is also the requirement to carry out all related Warehouse Operative duties as and when required.
The role will involve approximately 80% in the Warehouse and 20% driving and unloading trucks.

This job description is intended to give the post holder an appreciation of the role envisaged and the range of duties and responsibilities to be undertaken. It does not attempt to detail every activity. Specific tasks and objectives will be agreed with the post holder at regular intervals. The post holder will be required at all times to perform any other reasonable task, as requested by the Line Manager in order to meet the operational needs of the business.
Main Duties and Responsibilities (This list is not exhaustive and other areas of responsibility may be included)
- Carry out scheduled runs.
- To load and unload vehicles.
- To check load items, security and all necessary equipment, paperwork and fuel cards are on board prior to leaving the depot for the day’s journey.
- To undertake all necessary checks to ensure the vehicle is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedures if it is not.
- To comply with all Health & Safety requirements in the depot, on the road and at third party premises.
- To take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times.
- Daily Vehicle Maintenance Checks
- Drive within the tachograph law and driver hours limits.
- Look after the vehicle and ensure that it is not subjected to unnecessary damage.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the driving cab.
- Ensure accidents are kept to a minimum.
- Retention strip down / repairs / testing
- Trolley handle manufacturing process
- Arc and Mig Welding duties
- Trolley strip down, rebuild and repair
- Trolley stacking and de-stacking
- Stock / parts handling and control
- Truck / vehicle loading and unloading
- General housekeeping
- FLT Driving
- All warehouse / workshop general duties
- Conducting additional ad hoc duties as may be required.
Essential Requirements
- Driving Licence (ideally a clean licence is preferred)
- Class 3 Licence
- Valid forklift licence
- Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- You should be able to frequently work away from home when required, up to a maximum of 4 nights per week.
- Must be self motivated with a can-do attitude
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to demonstrate the highest level of professionalism
Hours of Work
You will be required to work 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, 8.00am - 5.00pm.
Pay & Benefits
- £13 per hour - changing to time and 1/3 for overtime after 40 hours worked,
- 29 days annual leave entitlement per holiday year, inclusive of bank holidays, with length of service holiday accrual.
- Fantastic £15 per night for overnight stay, and £25 is food and refreshment allowance
- £30 anti-social payment if you start work more than 2 hours before your official start time
