Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair gas appliances and systems in commercial and domestic environments
- Conduct thorough safety inspections and testing of gas installations to ensure compliance with regulations
- Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with gas equipment, employing mechanical knowledge and technical skills
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and carpentry techniques to complete installations and repairs
- Perform plumbing tasks related to gas systems, including pipework connections and fittings
- Carry out heavy lifting of equipment or materials safely during installation or maintenance tasks
- Maintain detailed records of work performed, safety checks, and compliance documentation
Skills
- Proven experience with welding, plumbing, carpentry, and assembly work in a gas engineering context
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
- Ability to perform basic math calculations for measurements, quantities, and system specifications
- Familiarity with commercial driving regulations for safe transportation of equipment or materials when required
- Physical strength for heavy lifting tasks and working in various environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations related to gas installation and maintenance
