We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Business Analyst to provide senior business analysis expertise across Digital Delivery. This is a key role supporting effective project, product and programme delivery by applying structured analysis practice, standards and assurance throughout the delivery lifecycle.
As the Senior Business Analyst, you will use best-practice analysis techniques to define business problems, opportunities, outcomes and success measures. You will support end-to-end requirements management and work closely with stakeholders to ensure analysis outputs enable effective delivery, informed decision-making and successful business change.
Duties include:
Senior Business Analysis Practice
- Contribute to the development of Business Analysis as a recognised discipline across the organisation, sharing expertise and supporting Product Owners and wider team members to build capability and professional standards.
- Apply and support the consistent use of business analysis techniques, frameworks, quality criteria and governance across projects, products and programmes.
- Provide expert guidance on analysis approach, scope definition, requirements management and stakeholder engagement for complex change initiatives.
Requirements, Scope and Process Analysis
- Lead the elicitation, analysis, documentation and validation of business, user, functional and non-functional requirements.
- Define business problems, opportunities, objectives, success measures and scope in collaboration with business and delivery stakeholders.
- Produce and assure process maps, business models, user journeys, options analysis and impact assessments.
- Embed effective end-to-end requirements management, ensuring requirements are clear, traceable, prioritised, controlled and aligned to business outcomes, delivery plans and solution design.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build trusted relationships with Project Managers, Product Owners, delivery teams, operational teams and suppliers to understand needs and manage expectations.
- Plan and facilitate workshops, interviews and discovery sessions that draw out clear requirements, constraints, assumptions and priorities.
- Influence and challenge constructively to ensure analysis outputs remain focused on business value, customer outcomes and strategic alignment.
Delivery Support and Assurance
- Support Programme Managers, Project Managers and Product Owners by ensuring analysis activity is planned, prioritised and aligned to delivery milestones.
- Assure the quality of analysis deliverables, requirements packs, acceptance criteria, business cases and change documentation.
- Work with test, technical and operational teams to ensure requirements support design, build, testing, implementation and transition to business as usual.
Continuous Improvement and Best Practice
- Establish and maintain a Business Analysis Community of Practice to share knowledge, improve consistency and embed best practice.
- Drive Business Analysis maturity: implementing tools, techniques and templates that support best practice.
- Review and improve analysis tools, templates, methods and governance based on lessons learned, stakeholder feedback and delivery performance.
- Champion the adoption of Agile delivery methodologies and ways of working across the team, embedding practices such as sprint planning, backlog management, and iterative delivery
The successful candidate will be a confident and experienced Business Analyst with a strong track record of delivering change within complex digital environments. You will be comfortable bringing structure and clarity to ambiguous problems, influencing stakeholders at all levels, and producing high-quality analysis outputs that enable teams to deliver meaningful business outcomes. Experience working within Agile, Waterfall and/or hybrid delivery environments is essential, along with the ability to adapt analysis approaches to meet differing delivery needs. A recognised Business Analysis qualification, such as PMI-PBA, BCS, IIBA CBAP/CCBA, or an equivalent certification, would be desirable but is not essential.
