Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Important Assistant - Mandarin speaking to join our procurement team. As an Import Assistant, you will support the day-to-day coordination of international shipments, ensuring goods are imported efficiently and in compliance with UK regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and monitor import shipments from suppliers to the UK
- Prepare and check import documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, etc.)
- Liaise with freight forwarders, customs agents, and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with UK customs and import regulations
- Track shipments and resolve any delays or discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records and update internal systems
- Support the finance team with import-related invoices and duties
Requirements
- Previous experience in an import, logistics, or supply chain role (preferred)
- Good understanding of import procedures and documentation
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Driving licence
