The Albert Tavern in Freuchie is Scotland's CAMRA Cider Pub of the Year 2026 and we are seeking a friendly and professional Part-Time Bartender to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, serving beverages, and ensuring guests have an enjoyable experience. Previous experience in a restaurant or bar setting is preferred, along with a passion for hospitality and food safety standards. Duties
- Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in accordance with standard recipes and customer preferences
- Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service
- Maintain cleanliness of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and work surfaces
- Check identification to verify legal drinking age and adhere to licensing laws
- Manage stock levels, restocking supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation
- Handle cash transactions accurately and operate POS systems
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner, providing excellent service to enhance their experience
- Follow food safety regulations and organisational policies at all times
- Assist in organising bar displays and promotional events when required
Experience
- Previous experience working as a bartender or in a similar hospitality role is advantageous
- Knowledge of food safety standards within the hospitality industry
- Strong serving skills with the ability to handle multiple orders efficiently
- Good understanding of basic maths for handling payments and managing stock levels
- Proven time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Experience working in restaurants or bars will be highly regarded
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers
