Great businesses don't simply manage customer accounts. They build trusted partnerships, deliver commercial success, and create long-term value through collaboration, innovation, and exceptional customer experience.
At Scottish Leather Group, we're looking for an Account Manager to take ownership of key Automotive customer accounts, ensuring outstanding service throughout the customer journey while driving profitable growth. Combining commercial expertise, relationship management skills, and a proactive approach to business development, you'll play a key role in strengthening customer partnerships and supporting the continued success of our Automotive division.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a globally recognised manufacturer, working with leading automotive brands and collaborating with colleagues across commercial, technical, operational, and quality teams to deliver innovative solutions and outstanding results.
In this role you will:
- Manage and develop key automotive customer accounts, delivering sustainable revenue growth and profitability.
- Build strong relationships with purchasing, engineering, design, quality, and programme stakeholders within customer organisations.
- Lead customer projects from quotation through to launch and ongoing production.
- Coordinate customer and internal project reviews, ensuring actions are clearly communicated and delivered.
- Take ownership of commercial discussions including pricing, programme changes, cost recovery, and contract negotiations.
- Monitor account performance and provide regular updates on opportunities, risks, and strategic developments.
- Work closely with Finance to support profitability, payment management, and commercial performance.
- Prepare and deliver customer presentations, business reviews, and strategic account updates.
- Develop and execute account growth plans using customer insight, market intelligence, and industry trends.
- Ensure exceptional customer service while balancing customer expectations with business objectives and profitability.
- Travel to customer, supplier, and company locations as required.
You're someone who thrives on building strong customer relationships and turning opportunities into results. You understand your customers' priorities, lead projects with confidence, and work closely with colleagues across the business to deliver innovative solutions, exceptional service, and sustainable commercial success.
- You have significant experience in Account Management, Programme Management, Business Development, or a similar commercial role.
- You have experience working within the Automotive sector, ideally supporting OEM or Tier 1 customers.
- You can demonstrate a strong track record of managing strategic customer relationships and delivering commercial growth.
- You are confident negotiating commercial agreements and resolving complex customer issues.
- You possess strong project management and programme coordination skills.
- You can combine commercial awareness with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- You are comfortable influencing and building relationships at all levels, both internally and externally.
- You are highly organised and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- You have strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- You hold a full UK driving licence and are willing to travel when required.
The impact you will have:
You will play a key role in developing and strengthening partnerships with some of our most important Automotive customers, ensuring we continue to deliver exceptional service, commercial success and long-term value. Through regular engagement with customer stakeholders and close collaboration with internal teams, you'll help ensure programmes are delivered successfully, customer expectations are met, and opportunities for growth are identified and realised.
Your ability to build trusted relationships, manage complex projects and lead commercial discussions will help drive profitable growth across your accounts while strengthening Scottish Leather Group's position as a supplier and partner of choice within the Automotive sector.
Through your work, you'll help create an environment where account management is about far more than maintaining customer relationships. It is about identifying opportunities, delivering strategic value, driving business performance and building partnerships that support sustainable growth for both our customers and Scottish Leather Group.
