Hours: Full time 3 shifts on 3 shifts off on a rolling Rota

We are looking for a friendly and reliable Kitchen Assistant to join our small and welcoming care home.
Our home has a family-style atmosphere, with wonderful residents and a supportive team. You will be helping prepare meals and supporting the kitchen to ensure residents enjoy fresh, home-style food every day.
This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a kitchen and wants to be part of a caring environment where their work makes a real difference.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with meal preparation
- Helping with light cooking and baking
- Supporting the cook during meal service
- Washing dishes and keeping the kitchen clean and organised as per cleaning rota
- Following food hygiene and safety standards
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Friendly and reliable
- Happy working as part of a team
- Comfortable working in a busy kitchen
- Caring and respectful towards older people
Experience:
- Kitchen or food preparation experience preferred
- Food Safety level 2 or equivalent is required.
- Cooking or baking skills are a bonus but not essential
