Role Summary
As a Support Worker at Inspire Sussex, you’ll play a vital role in helping adults with learning disabilities live fulfilling, independent and meaningful lives. Depending on service needs, you may support individuals with mild learning disabilities, those with mild to moderate learning disabilities, or people with complex and profound needs. Regardless of setting, you will be part of a committed team delivering personalised, compassionate care that promotes choice, dignity and wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs and goals.
- Assist with daily living activities including personal care, mobility, meal preparation and medication support.
- Encourage independence, confidence and involvement in decision-making.
- Support participation in activities, community access and social opportunities.
- Build positive relationships with the people you support, their families and colleagues.
- Maintain accurate records, follow care plans and adhere to organisational policies.
- Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, and dignity are maintained at all times.
Person Specification
Essential
- A compassionate, patient and respectful approach.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well within a team and use initiative.
- Commitment to person-centred values, dignity and respect.
Desirable
- Experience in a social care or support setting.
- Health & Social Care qualifications (Level 2/3 or equivalent).
- Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities.
