At Look Ahead, we’re seeking a Head of Service – Learning Disabilities and Autism to provide strategic and operational leadership across our Complex LD services and placements.
You’ll drive Person Centered outcomes for all customers, lead effective service performance, financial sustainability and quality standards while working closely with Local Authorities, NHS partners, internal teams and, of course our all important customers. You will have knowledge and experience of leading CQC Regulated services
About the Role
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, LD&A, you will lead the operational delivery, quality and performance of Learning Disabilities and Autism services across the portfolio. This is a senior leadership role focused on ensuring services are safe, compliant, financially viable and delivering strong outcomes for people. You will be up to date with best practice and thinking in LD&A, and embed these in your own practice and leadership
You will have knowledge and experience of Person Centered Active Support, Co Production, PBS and the great things that lead to true person centered outcomes for people
You’ll also play a key role in reporting to the Senior Team, analysing and reporting against data, improving service performance, managing your budget and strengthening relationships with external partners across the system.
Key responsibilities
· Lead performance, quality and financial delivery across Complex LD services
· Develop highly skilled, well performing staff teams
· Lead on optimising the performance of your service portfolio
· Manage relationships with Local Authorities, NHS and commissioning partners
· Improve underperforming services and support contract sustainability
· Lead safeguarding, risk and serious incident management
· Ensure services meet CQC regulations and hold a minimum Good rating, be audit-ready and meeting KPI expectations
· Support service transformation and mobilisation activity
· Work closely with Central Support colleagues to achieve strong results
· Some On Call and out of hours working is required on occasion.
Who we’re looking for
You’ll be an experienced leader with a strong background in Learning Disability and Autism services.
You will have:
· Experience in leading Complex LD / Transforming Care / high-acuity services
· Knowledge of and commitment to best practice in LD&A
· Knowledge of and commitment to Person Centered Active Support
· Strong understanding of Local Authority or NHS commissioning environments
· Track record of delivering optimum performance, quality and financial outcomes
· Strong safeguarding and risk management experience
· Excellent analytical and report writing skills
· Experience working with contracts, budgets or service performance
· Skills which make you a positive team member.
· Experience of developing growth and new business in LD&A services
· Be able to travel as part of the role
