We are looking for a Purchasing Assistant to join our purchasing team and play an important role in ensuring our stock is ordered, tracked and delivered efficiently.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a career in purchasing and procurement.
Working closely with suppliers and internal teams, you will provide day-to-day support to the purchasing function, helping to maintain stock availability, manage purchase orders and ensure deliveries are received on time.
The role would suit someone who is organised, proactive and keen to learn, with an interest in developing their skills and taking on greater responsibility. There is clear potential for progression to Buyer for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with placing and tracking purchase orders
- Monitor stock levels and support replenishment activities
- Maintain purchasing records, spreadsheets and internal databases
- Liaise with suppliers to confirm pricing, product availability and delivery dates
- Chase deliveries and resolve supplier queries where required
- Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships
- Support the purchasing team with sourcing new suppliers and negotiating where appropriate
- Provide general administrative and clerical support to the purchasing team
- Identify and support opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
About You
- Some previous office experience is preferred, but not essential
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident communicator, both written and verbal
- Comfortable working with systems and data, with good Microsoft Office and Excel skills
- Reliable, proactive and keen to learn
- Able to work well as part of a team in a busy office environment

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £26,300.00 per year
