Role Overview
We are looking for an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated Pharmacy Tutor to join our growing delivery team. You will be responsible for delivering outstanding teaching, learning and assessment across both the Level 2 Pharmacy Services (Integrated) and Level 3 Pre-registration Trainee Pharmacy Technician (Integrated) apprenticeship programmes.
You will work closely with learners and their employers to support progression, track performance, and ensure every learner receives a high-quality and consistent experience throughout their programme.
Key Responsibilities
Teaching, Learning and Assessment
- Deliver engaging, high-quality one-to-one and group teaching sessions remotely and/or in the workplace across Level 2 and Level 3 pharmacy apprenticeship programmes
- Plan and deliver sessions that meet the individual needs, learning styles and pace of each learner
- Set clear, SMART targets and review progress at each session, following on from previous reviews
- Mark and provide constructive, developmental feedback on learner work and portfolio evidence
- Carry out and document progress reviews in line with CoreEd's quality standards and funding rules
- Ensure learners are building a complete, high-quality portfolio of evidence aligned to the relevant qualification standards
- Support learners through their End-Point Assessment (EPA) preparation
Learner Support and Welfare
- Build positive, professional relationships with learners and act as a trusted point of contact throughout their programme
- Identify and respond to learners' individual learning needs, including SEND, English as an Additional Language (EAL) and functional skills requirements
- Refer learners to appropriate support where needed, including Functional Skills tutors and learner services
- Discuss and promote learner wellbeing, safeguarding and mental health awareness during every progress review
- Embed Prevent and British Values into teaching and learning practice
- Identify and escalate any safeguarding concerns in line with CoreEd's safeguarding policy and procedure
Employer Engagement
- Build and maintain strong, professional relationships with employer partners and workplace supervisors
- Communicate regularly with employers to track learner progress, discuss concerns and agree workplace learning activities
- Attend employer and learner review meetings as required
- Support employers to understand their role in the apprenticeship delivery model
Compliance and Quality
- Maintain accurate, timely and compliant records on CoreEd's learning management system (Aptem)
- Ensure all delivery meets ESFA funding rules, Ofsted Education Inspection Framework (EIF) requirements and awarding organisation standards
- Attend and contribute to standardisation meetings, team meetings and CPD activities
- Participate in internal quality assurance (IQA) processes including observations of teaching, learning and assessment (OTLA)
- Contribute to the Self-Assessment Review (SAR) and Quality Improvement Plan (QIP) processes
- Complete all mandatory training annually including safeguarding, Prevent and equality and diversity
Person Specification
Essential
- Relevant pharmacy qualification minimum Level 3 in Pharmacy Services, ideally GPhC-registered Pharmacy Technician or equivalent
- Experience working in a pharmacy environment (community, hospital or primary care)
- Demonstrable passion for education, coaching and supporting others to develop
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a caseload of learners independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Confident using digital platforms, Microsoft Teams and online learning tools
- Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of practice
- Understanding of, or willingness to learn, safeguarding responsibilities in an education setting
Desirable
- Assessor qualification TAQA, CAVA, A1 or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
- Teaching qualification PGCE, CertEd, AET or equivalent (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience delivering apprenticeship programmes at Level 2 and/or Level 3
- Familiarity with ESFA funding rules and the Ofsted Education Inspection Framework
- Experience using Aptem or a similar learning management system
Pay: Up to £30,000.00 per year
