Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) and Risk Director, Ardagh Metal Packaging - Europe (AMP-E)
Role Description The EHS and Risk Director ensures excellence, operational compliance, and continuous improvement in operational EHS & Risk management in the Ardagh Metal Packaging-Europe Business Unit. In addition, the person ensures a standardized group wide approach based on the respective group policies, procedures and objectives and is an effective link between the group, business units and plants. The areas of responsibilities are: Environmental, H&S, Loss Prevention, Emergency Response and Business Continuity Management.

Key Responsibilities
Business Partner supporting Business Units’ (BU) Operational Leadership team with risk-based decision making
Development of 3 year rolling improvement road maps which are linked to both the BU’s long-range plan, objectives and plant action plans
Overseeing the BU’s compliance with permit and other relevant legal EHS requirements and maintaining auditable transparency. Staying up to date with upcoming regulatory EHS requirements for manufacturing
Monitoring the BU entities’ management systems for conformity with the requirements of the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001, ISO 50001
Ownership for a coordinated approach of documented plant self- assessments and BU site assessments following ARMS EHS and BCM protocols
Monitoring, assessing and driving an effective implementation of BSafe!, Environmental, Loss control standards, emergency response (ER), Energy management and Business continuity management (BCM) practices
Identification and sharing of best practices within the BU
Reviewing ARMS incident reports and engaging with the plants to ensure sufficient quality in root cause analysis and the definition and transfer of corrective actions and lessons learned in all AMP-E locations
Support plants in the accurate and timely reporting of EHS data. Provide an effective reporting and relationship link with Group Risk team
Conducting management reviews with plant and territorial management based on KPI trends, incident analysis, audit results, and other functional input
Conduct ad hoc trouble shooting reviews and surveys on plants whose KPI trends demonstrate continual worsening
Support the continual strengthening of the EHS and risk management culture
Develop BU EHS and risk managers as individuals and as a coordinated team/network
Be the EHS subject matter expert supporting the BU functional Groups
Managing BU level EHS projects / support plant EHS projects (such as projects to remediate due diligence gaps) to ensure long term EHS compliance or as response to identified improvement potentials from group wide incident occurrence
Reviewing BU business impact assessments (BIA) and risk assessments. Ownership for the BU Business Continuity Plan (BCP)
Updating of the BU loss event on site risk in the Enterprise Risk Management System (ERM)
Actively represent the BU in Group wide committees and working groups
Engaging with the Group EHS and Risk Management function, and peers in other Ardagh BUs to ensure coherence and alignment of the group and regional development
Active participation in the development of group control standards, practices, and systems. Guiding and driving the implementation of new control standards and practices
Alignment with relevant BU functions on related subjects such as sustainability, operational compliance, regulatory affairs, strategic planning, insurance management
Requirements
Degree in engineering or technical science
Post graduate occupational H&S / Environmental / Risk management degree
Minimum of 5 years of experience in the manufacturing sector
Ability to lead remotely and in a multiculture environment
