We are looking to appoint an ambitious and enthusiastic Assistant professor (Teaching) in Esports Production and Gaming to our Creative Technologies team. With an enviable reputation for leading innovative pedagogy in this field, our Creative Technologies programmes are distinctive for links with industry, an array of projects with external partners in a range of sectors, and a playful, innovative approach to curriculum design and delivery.
Central to this role is teaching industry practices and imparting key design, development and product realisation techniques as well as industry-specific, and transferable skills. As an Assistant Professor (Teaching) you will be proactive in motivating and supporting students across the Creative Technologies cluster, with a particular focus on our Esports Production and Gaming, from undergraduate to postgraduate level. Experience working in Esports production and/ or games design in the context of Esports is essential, focusing on a creative and experimental approach that transcends disciplines and sectors.
Candidates must have strong and up to date awareness of developments within the broader creative technologies industry and be enthused to work in innovative and experimental ways across our suite of under- and postgraduate courses, developing directional and globally competitive portfolios of work with our students, and enhancing the visibility of the suite of courses through contributing to promotional material.
Candidates must be confident to engage with physical and online teaching methods, practices, tools, and an integrated and at times cross-disciplinary approach to studio teaching and learning. The achievement and satisfaction of our students is our top priority; candidates must be qualified (or be willing to become qualified) to teach and assess at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
