The Clinical Effectiveness Manager is a full‑time (1.0 WTE) post with responsibility for providing strategic leadership and operational oversight of the Trust’s clinical effectiveness agenda. The role ensures robust governance and assurance in relation to clinical audit, NICE guidance identification and implementation, supporting the delivery of high‑quality, evidence‑based care. Working in partnership with clinical leaders, managers and corporate teams, the post‑holder will drive continuous improvement, support regulatory readiness and provide clear, reliable assurance to senior management and Trust committees, while leading and developing the clinical effectiveness function.
There is a requirement for onsite working.
To actively manage the Clinical Effectiveness & Audit Agenda across the Group.
To ensure the Group is adhering to current policies and guidelines and they are updated in line with national guidance.
To support clinical teams across the Group, in identifying quality improvements from the recommendations identified in clinical audit reports, and the ability to generate reports to all levels of staff across the Group, to pre-determined time scales.

Pilgrim Hospital is situated in beautiful countryside and serves the communities in the South Lincolnshire area. It provides all major specialties and a 24-hour major accident and emergency service.
Grantham and District Hospital serves the communities of Grantham and the local area. It provides ambulatory paediatric and accident and emergency services.
Lincolnshire Community Health Services NHS Trust (LCHS) and United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust (ULHT) have come together in a Group arrangement, with the goal of improving the care provided to patients across the county.
This will not constitute a formal merger of the two organisations, but will bring the Trusts together under a single Board and Executive Leadership Team, with the goal of improving the care that is provided to patients both in the community and in hospitals across Lincolnshire. Both Trusts will retain their separate statutory names and legal obligations.
The Group will be known as Lincolnshire Community and Hospitals NHS Group (LCHG).
Implementing and auditing compliance with national and local clinical standards and guidelines including NICE guidelines in conjunction with clinical and non-clinical colleagues across the Group.
Ensure all required clinical audit activity is carried out; meeting both internal requirements and requirements of external agencies.
Participation in all National Clinical Audits within the National Clinical Audit and Patient Outcomes Programme (NCACOP) and Quality Account.
Analysing and synthesising data from a variety of sources to prepare complex reports for the Group.
Developing the Group’s annual clinical audit programme, ensuring both national and local priorities are scheduled, and use clinical audit and quality improvement as a way to monitor effectiveness.
Overseeing and line managing the Group Clinical Effectiveness Team in the delivery of their portfolio of projects that reflect national and organisational priorities, utilising the principles of project management as a means of enhancing and improving the quality of care, treatment and services provided by the Trust.
Ensure that there is a process in place to monitor that actions arising from clinical audit are implemented.
Collaborating with staff at all levels of the organisation, linking with external agencies to develop and promote clinical effectiveness as an integral part of the working practice of all staff involved in the provision of services across the Group.
Supporting clinical teams by providing guidance on improvement methodologies and implementing the changes identified as a result of clinical audits, quality improvement projects, NICE and national guidance.
Supporting and participating in the development and delivery of the clinical audit teaching programme collaborating with the education team to ensure effective and appropriate teaching of clinical effectiveness and improvement methodologies.
Providing effective leadership and professional advice to all Group staff on clinical effectiveness, quality improvement and audit.
Overseeing the maintenance and timely update of the Trust database of audit activity, NCEPOD & NICE compliance
Producing and updating Group Policy and Guidance to support staff in the completion of their duty around the management of Audits and Best Practice..
With Divisional Audit Leads develop systems ensuring clinical audit action plans are agreed, implemented and monitored by the relevant services/clinical teams and prepare regular reports on the progress of audit projects.
