Church View Dental is looking for an experienced, motivated, and qualified Head Dental Nurse to join our friendly and professional team in Upminster.
This is an excellent opportunity for a confident dental nurse who enjoys both clinical work and leading a team. Our practice offers a mix of NHS and private dentistry in a modern, well-equipped environment with a strong focus on high-quality patient care.
The Role
As our Head Dental Nurse, you will divide your time between providing outstanding chairside support and leading the day-to-day management of the nursing team. You will help maintain exceptional clinical standards, ensure regulatory compliance, and create a positive, supportive workplace.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality chairside support across a wide range of dental procedures.
- Lead, mentor, and support the dental nursing team.
- Prepare and manage staff rotas to ensure efficient daily operations.
- Ensure full compliance with HTM 01-05, CQC standards, and practice policies.
- Oversee decontamination and infection control procedures.
- Monitor, order, and manage clinical stock and consumables.
- Support the recruitment, induction, and training of trainee and junior dental nurses.
- Work closely with the Practice Manager and clinicians to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
About You
You will have:
- Active GDC registration as a qualified Dental Nurse.
- At least 5 years' post-qualification dental nursing experience.
- Previous experience leading or supervising a dental nursing team.
- Excellent knowledge of CQC regulations and compliance requirements.
- Strong organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Experience using dental practice management software (Dentally experience is an advantage).
- A positive attitude with a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.
