We are seeking an experienced and motivated Head of Conveyancing to lead and develop our busy conveyancing department and play a pivotal role in the continued growth of the firm.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for overseeing the performance, quality, and strategic development of the conveyancing department. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in residential and commercial conveyancing and will combine strong technical expertise with excellent leadership and commercial awareness.
You will lead a growing team of conveyancing professionals, ensuring high standards of client service, compliance, and operational efficiency while supporting the development of future team leaders within the department.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Leadership:
- Inspire, lead, and develop a department of conveyancing professionals, fostering a collaborative, high-performance and supportive team culture.
- Support the development of team leaders and future supervisors within the department
Client Service:
- Ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality legal services and exceptional client care.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, estate agents, lenders and other professional contacts.
Quality and Compliance:
- Oversee quality assurance across all conveyancing transactions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain the firm’s CQS accreditation and lender panel memberships.
- Develop and maintain and internal policies and procedures in line with SRA guidance and the Conveyancing Protocol.
Performance Management:
- Monitor departmental performance and provide regular reporting to senior management.
- Analyse operational data to identify areas for improvement and drive efficiency within the department.
Business Development:
- Work with the marketing department to raise the profile of the conveyancing department
- Identify opportunities to strengthen referral relationships and expand the department’s client base.
Technology:
- Identify and implement technology solutions to improve efficiency, transparency, and scalability of the conveyancing processes.
The ideal candidate will have the following attributes:
- Qualified Solicitor with at least 5 years PQE in residential and commercial conveyancing
- Experience managing a busy conveyancing team.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities with a passion for developing others
- In-depth knowledge of property law and conveyancing procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong commercial awareness and strategic thinking.
- Client-focused with a commitment to delivering exceptional service.
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver targets.
- Exceptional organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities.`
- Mandarin speaking preferred by not essential.
Salary between £100,000 and £120,000, dependent on experience and qualification
