Ross-on-Wye & Monmouth Sea Cadets is looking for enthusiastic and motivated volunteers to join our team as Royal Marines Cadet Instructors. This is a rewarding opportunity to inspire young people aged 12–18 through adventure, leadership, teamwork and personal development.
No previous military experience is required. We provide comprehensive training, ongoing support and opportunities to gain nationally recognised qualifications.
As a Volunteer Royal Marines Cadet Instructor, you'll help deliver exciting training both ashore and afloat. Activities include:
- Fieldcraft and navigation
- Adventure training and camping
- Leadership and teamwork exercises
- Physical fitness and sports
- First aid
- Water-based activities including rowing, kayaking, powerboating and sailing
- Supporting cadets as they progress through the Royal Marines Cadet training syllabus
Every parade night is different, making this a varied and rewarding volunteer role where you'll see the positive impact you have on young people's confidence, resilience and life skills.
What you'll do
- Deliver engaging training sessions and practical activities.
- Support and mentor young people in a safe and inclusive environment.
- Help organise adventurous activities, camps and community events.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all cadets.
- Work as part of a friendly and supportive volunteer team.
- Attend weekly parade nights and occasional weekend activities when available.

You don't need previous instructional or military experience—we're looking for people with enthusiasm and the right attitude.
