About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Production Operative to join our coffee roasting and production team in Kendal.
The successful candidate will support the day-to-day running of the roastery, helping to pack, label and prepare roasted coffee products to a consistently high standard. The role also includes local delivery driving, warehouse duties and general support across the production facility.
This position would suit someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work, works well as part of a team and takes pride in producing a high-quality finished product.
A full UK driving licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with coffee production, packing and order fulfilment.
- Weigh, pack, label and seal coffee products accurately.
- Operate and monitor production and packaging equipment safely.
- Complete quality checks to ensure products meet company standards.
- Prepare coffee, packaging and other materials for production runs.
- Maintain accurate production records and documentation.
- Follow all food safety, hygiene and health and safety procedures.
- Clean and maintain production equipment and working areas.
- Assist with warehouse duties, stock management and inventory counts.
- Load, unload and safely move stock and materials.
- Complete local deliveries using a company vehicle.
- Support the wider production team during busy periods.
- Help identify ways to improve productivity, quality and efficiency.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience within production, manufacturing, warehousing or food production is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to follow instructions and established procedures accurately.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Reliable, punctual and able to work independently when required.
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual handling.
- Able to stand for extended periods during shifts.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Experience
- Previous experience in food manufacturing or coffee production.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Forklift licence or experience using warehouse equipment.
- An interest in coffee and the roasting process.
Working Environment
The role is based within a working coffee roastery, production and warehouse environment. It involves standing for extended periods and manually handling coffee bags, packaging materials and finished products.
Full training will be provided on equipment, processes and company procedures.
