Job purpose
To support me with healing from CPTSD by helping me leave the house and access the local area and appointments that are approximately up to an 1 hour away from my home address. To provide social contact to combat the isolation of living with this kind of brain injury.
About me
I have CPTSD which impacts my physical health and causes trauma responses that make leaving the house and socialising impossible without support. I need someone who can help me recognise safety outside of my home so I can have a quality of life again and reconnect with people and hobbies I’ve been unable to engage with for years. I have a working dog and use mobility aids.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
· Driving me to appointments
· Helping me leave the house so I can feel safe whilst out
· Provide social contact
· Maintain my safety and adhere to strict confidentiality
Personal Specification

Must have some understanding about trauma and CPTSD. Somebody who will respect my triggers and help me feel safe outside of my home. I need someone who is patient and calm and someone who is LGBTQIAP+ friendly. It would be helpful if you have some local knowledge to help me become familiar with, and feel safe in the area. No smoking while with me or in my home.
Essential Criteria
· Patient, calm and respectful of boundaries
· Can start and maintain a good conversation
· Genuine interest in helping people
· Clean driving license
· *Female-due to trauma‑related care needs, (only female applicants can be considered for this role. Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010 applies)
Desirable Criteria
· Trauma informed or domestic abuse trained
· Knowledge of or experience of working with people with trauma/CPTSD/domestic abuse
Summary terms and conditions
· Hours, days and times of work: 7.5 hours per week. The times will depend on when my appointments are but always during school hours. Otherwise, there is some flexibility- although less flexibility in school holidays. Weekdays- availability is between 9am -2pm. No weekends.
· Pay rate: £14.10 per hour
· Annual leave: The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work normally done during 5.6 weeks (statutory entitlement).
· Expenses: You will be reimbursed for prior agreed expenses incurred as part of the role.
· Sick pay: I do not operate a private sick pay scheme but provided you meet the eligibility criteria, you may be entitled to Statutory Sick Pay (SSP).
· Pension: I do not operate a private pension scheme but I will fulfil my statutory obligations via the NEST pension scheme.
