Nursery Practitioner – Full Time / Part Time / Apprentice Opportunity
Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Practitioner to join our family. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a genuine love for working with children.
We welcome applications from Level 3 qualified practitioners (full-time or part-time) and would also consider an enthusiastic apprentice looking to start their career in early years.
As a Nursery Practitioner, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children to learn and grow. Your ability to communicate effectively and manage various activities will be essential in fostering positive relationships with both children and their families.
Duties
- Provide high-quality care and education for children aged 0–5 years in accordance with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Plan and implement engaging activities that promote children's development across all areas of learning.
- Observe and assess children's progress, maintaining accurate records to support their individual learning journeys.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and colleagues to ensure the best outcomes for each child.
- Manage daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and play sessions, ensuring a safe and organised environment.
- Support children’s emotional well-being by providing comfort and encouragement as needed.
- Collaborate with team members to create a cohesive approach to childcare and education.
Experience
- Previous experience working with children in a nursery or childcare setting is desirable.
- A Level 3 qualification in Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) is highly desirable for practitioner roles.
- We would also welcome applications from individuals wishing to undertake an Early Years apprenticeship and begin their career in childcare.
- Strong communication skills in English are required to effectively engage with children and families.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities to guide and support less experienced staff members.
- A valid driving licence may be beneficial for transportation purposes related to outings or events.
- A passion for childcare, alongside the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude.
Additional Opportunity
Practitioners may also have the opportunity to work alongside our partner charity Changing Stars Malawi, spending time away in Africa teaching and assisting in one of the most memorable and beautiful settings for two weeks. This experience has genuinely changed the lives of practitioners who have taken part.
While not essential, it is a fantastic opportunity for those who may be interested in the future.
