Market 36 Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Leather Trimmer / Leather Technician on behalf of our client based in Witham.
Our client is a creative, technology-driven design, engineering and manufacturing business working within the ultra-premium, low-volume automotive sector. They deliver design, engineering, testing and manufacturing from a single facility, working on prestigious vehicle programmes for some of the world's most exclusive automotive brands.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring leather products and components meet exacting design specifications, tolerances and customer quality standards. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience working with leather, particularly within an automotive or high-end manufacturing environment, who takes pride in producing high-quality finished products.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Ensure products meet design specifications, tolerances and customer quality standards
- Handle and work with leather using appropriate techniques
- Carry out rework and repairs on defective or sub-standard items
- Liaise with other technicians to achieve the required product finish
- Read and interpret patterns, technical drawings, work orders and other production documentation
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail throughout the manufacturing process
- Work flexibly and adapt to changing production requirements at short notice
- Meet required production deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards
- Follow all workplace health and safety requirements
- Maintain a professional, proactive and accountable approach at all times
- Contribute to a positive team environment and demonstrate a strong "can do" attitude
Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience working with leather is desirable, ideally within an automotive or high-end manufacturing environment
- Good understanding of leather handling techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in craftsmanship
- Ability to read and interpret patterns, drawings and work orders
- Good time management skills with the ability to work to deadlines
- Flexible and adaptable approach to changing requirements
- Strong work ethic and positive attitude
- Understanding of workplace health and safety
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider technical team
Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm
