About the Role
Due to continued growth, MAX Automotive Group Ltd is looking for an experienced Mobile Van Mechanic / Mobile Vehicle Technician to join our expanding team.
This is a predominantly field-based position, working from one of our fully equipped mobile service vans and supporting fleet and commercial customers across the West Midlands and surrounding areas.
The role is primarily focused on vans and light commercial vehicles, carrying out servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs at customers’ premises.
We are looking for someone with a proven track record who is comfortable working independently and can diagnose and repair vehicles correctly without constant supervision.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Mobile servicing and scheduled maintenance Van and light commercial vehicle repairs Diagnostics and fault finding Electrical fault diagnosis and repairs Brakes, suspension and steering Batteries, starting and charging systems DPF, EGR and emissions-related faults Cooling system repairs MOT preparation and repairs Fleet preventative maintenance Vehicle health checks Breakdown diagnosis and repairs Manufacturer scheduled maintenance Digital inspections and job cards Identifying and reporting additional work
Experience Required
Previous professional experience as a Vehicle Technician / Van Mechanic is essential.
You should be confident working independently and have good experience with:
✓ Van and LCV servicing and maintenance✓ General mechanical repairs✓ Diagnostics and fault finding✓ Electrical fault finding✓ Brakes and suspension✓ Modern diagnostic equipment✓ Manufacturer repair procedures✓ Fleet maintenance✓ Identifying additional work correctly✓ Working unsupervised at customer locations
Diagnostic ability is particularly important.
We’re not looking for someone who simply changes parts until a problem disappears. We want someone who understands how to test, diagnose and repair faults correctly.
Qualifications
Ideally, you’ll have:
- NVQ Level 3 Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair or equivalent Full UK driving licence Proven industry experience
MOT Tester, EV & Hybrid or additional diagnostic qualifications would be advantageous but are not essential.
