We are currently recruiting for a Senior Residential Support Worker to join the team at one of our homes in Huddersfield.
As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will support the Home Manger in the day to day running of the home, lead and mentor the Residential Support Workers and ensure constant delivery of person-centred care aligned with individual care plans.
You will act as a professional role model, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies and Ofsted, and you will (list is not exhaustive)
· Provide high-quality, consistent care in line with individual care and placement plans.
· Build trusting and therapeutic relationships that promote emotional stability, resilience, and growth.
· Support children in developing life skills, independence, and positive coping strategies.
· Ensure children participate in decisions affecting their lives.
· Safeguard and protect children, adhering to statutory guidance and internal procedures.
· Provide guidance, supervision and mentoring to Residential Support workers.
· Lead shifts in the absence of the Home Manger or Deputy Manager, ensuring smooth home operations.
· Foster teamwork, open communication and a positive, child-centred culture within the home. Maintain accurate and confidential records in line with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in handover, meetings, reviews and multi-agency planning.
- Assist in rota planning, shift leadership and ensuring adequate staffing levels.
- Work in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, and Ofsted Quality Standards.
Experience and Qualifications Required
· A minimum of 3 years’ experience in Residential Childcare (essential)
· Level 3 / 4 Diploma in residential childcare (essential)
· Up to date training in Safeguarding, First Aid, Health and Safety and Medication Administration (Essential)
