Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated <PERSON> to join our construction and maintenance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in various building trades, demonstrating proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, contributing to the realisation of high-quality structures and repairs. Applicants must be committed to safety, quality workmanship, and punctuality. All positions are paid, including internships, and provide valuable experience within the construction industry.
Duties
- Utilise hand tools, power tools, and specialised equipment such as masonry saws, welders, and carpentry tools to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
- Perform bricklaying and masonry work, ensuring precise alignment and durable finishes in accordance with project specifications.
- Assist with roofing installation and repairs, including laying tiles or slates and sealing joints to ensure weatherproofing.
- Carry out carpentry tasks such as framing, fitting doors or windows, and constructing formwork for concrete pours.
- Conduct welding operations where necessary to join metal components securely.
- Follow safety protocols at all times, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of tools and materials.
- Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time whilst maintaining high standards of quality.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in building trades such as bricklaying, masonry, carpentry, roofing, or welding.
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools relevant to construction tasks.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to construction sites and working at heights or with heavy machinery.
- Ability to read technical drawings or plans is advantageous but not essential.
- Strong organisational skills with an organised approach to work tasks.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team environment.
- Relevant certifications or qualifications in construction trades are preferred but not mandatory.
