Jam Coding Club Leader

£20–£25 per hour (depending on experience)
Minimum 2 hours paid per club session
About the Role
Jam Coding Cheltenham is looking for enthusiastic and reliable After School Club Leaders to deliver engaging after-school technology clubs in local primary schools.
No coding experience is required. Full training is provided.
We're looking for people who are confident working with children and comfortable leading groups. If you can engage a class, build positive relationships and create an enjoyable learning environment, we can teach you the technology.
Many of our most successful club leaders come from teaching, childcare, coaching and youth work backgrounds rather than technology backgrounds.
Jam Coding is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All club leaders undergo a vetting process, including an enhanced DBS check with a check against the Children's Barred List, and reference checks, before appointment.

- Anyone with experience working with primary-aged children
Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging after-school STEM and technology clubs
- Create a positive and well-managed learning environment
- Inspire children through coding, game design, robotics and digital creativity
- Build positive relationships with pupils, teachers and school staff
- Set up and pack away equipment
- Transport laptops and equipment to and from schools
- Represent Jam Coding professionally within schools
- Occasionally support assemblies, taster sessions and holiday workshops
Essential Requirements
- Experience working with children in a professional or voluntary capacity
- Confidence leading groups of children
- Excellent communication skills
- Reliable, punctual and professional approach
- Full UK driving licence
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to transport club equipment between locations
Desirable
- Teaching Assistant, teaching, childcare or youth work experience
- Experience running clubs, activities or enrichment programmes
- Experience delivering presentations or assemblies
- Interest in technology, STEM or computing
Training & Support
No previous coding or computing teaching experience is required.

Hours
- Typically between 3:00pm and 5:00pm
- Monday to Friday during term time
- Applicants can choose which days they are available
- Additional opportunities may be available during school holidays and weekends
Safeguarding
This role involves working with children and is subject to an Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
