Justteachers is seeking a passionate, full-time EYFS Teaching Assistant for a partner primary school in Oldham starting this September. The role will be on a full time, temporary basis.
You will be joining a warm, inclusive, and community-focused primary school known for its vibrant early years outdoor learning spaces and supportive leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Early Learning Support: Assist with the delivery of the EYFS framework, focusing on prime areas like communication, language, and physical development.
- Phonics & Early Math: Lead small-group phonics sessions (e.g., Read Write Inc.) and early number work through playful learning.
- Observation & Tracking: Use digital learning journals (like Tapestry) to record observations and track individual child milestones.
- Play-Based Learning: Create stimulating indoor and outdoor learning environments that encourage child-initiated play and exploration.
- Personal Care: Assist with personal care, hygiene, and encouraging independence during snack times and transitions.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience working with children aged 3 to 5 within a school, nursery, or early years setting.
- Qualifications: A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Early Years, Childcare, or Supporting Teaching and Learning is highly desirable.
- Skills: Excellent knowledge of the EYFS curriculum and a warm, enthusiastic, and patient approach to early childhood education.
- Compliance: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new one through Justteachers.
