Overview
Brant Broughton pre-school is looking for a caring, enthusiastic, and dedicated Level 3 Early Years Practitioner to join their wonderful team on a term-time only basis (39 weeks per year).

Responsibilities
Childcare and Learning:
- Provide high-quality care and education in line with EYFS requirements.
- Support children’s learning through play and planned activities.
- Observe, assess and record children’s development and progress.
- Plan and implement activities that promote children’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development.
- Encourage children's curiosity, independence and confidence through engaging learning opportunities.
- Support children to develop positive relationships, communication skills and emotional wellbeing.
- Celebrate and promote each child's individual achievements and next steps in learning.
- Act as a key person, building secure relationships with assigned children and their families.
Safeguarding and Welfare:
- Safeguard and promote the health, safety and wellbeing of children at all times.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report concerns immediately in line with policy.
- Act as a positive role model, promoting children's wellbeing and positive behaviour.
- Ensure all safeguarding, welfare and health and safety requirements are consistently met.
- Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic environment.
Partnership with Parents and Carers:
- Build positive relationships with parents and carers.
- Share information about children’s progress and wellbeing.
- Support settling-in procedures and transitions.
- Help create a welcoming environment where families feel valued, supported and involved in their child's learning journey.
Teamwork and Professional Practice:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards.
- Contribute positively to the friendly and supportive culture of the pre-school.
- Share ideas and contribute to activities, planning and continuous improvement within the setting.
- Demonstrate a willingness to learn, develop and undertake relevant training.
General Duties:
- Promote the values and reputation of Brant Broughton Pre-School within the local community.
- Promote equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries.
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the pre-school and contribute to a positive environment for children, families and colleagues.
Experience
Essential:
- Level 3 Early Years qualification (or working towards).
- Knowledge of child development and inclusive practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of the EYFS framework.
- Understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with children and families.
- Passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Reliable, flexible and professional approach.
Desirable:
- Paediatric First Aid qualification.
- Previous experience working in an early years setting.
- Knowledge of child development and inclusive practice.
- Understanding of inclusive practice and supporting children with additional needs.
