We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Plumbing, Heating & Heat Pump Engineer to join our team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing, and repairing plumbing, heating, and air source heat pump systems across a range of residential and commercial properties.
You will play a key role in delivering high-quality renewable heating installations, ensuring all systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain plumbing systems, including pipework, fixtures, valves, cylinders, and drainage systems in new and existing buildings.
- Install, commission, service, and maintain air source heat pump systems, ensuring they operate efficiently and in accordance with manufacturer and MCS standards.
- Install and service heating systems including boilers, radiators, underfloor heating, pumps, valves, hot water cylinders, and thermostats.
- Diagnose faults and carry out repairs on plumbing, heating, and heat pump systems.
- Perform routine servicing and inspections to identify and resolve issues before they become major faults.
- Use hand and power tools safely and effectively to complete installations and repairs.
- Read technical drawings, schematics, and installation plans to ensure accurate system installation.
- Carry out pipework alterations, system flushing, pressure testing, and commissioning.
- Perform welding or brazing tasks where required.
- Lift and move equipment safely while following health and safety procedures.
- Complete installation documentation and commissioning paperwork accurately.
- Provide excellent customer service and explain system operation to homeowners.
- Operate company vehicles to transport tools, equipment, and materials between sites.
Experience
- Proven experience as a Plumbing and Heating Engineer.
- Experience installing or servicing air source heat pumps is highly desirable. Training can be provided for the right candidate.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of plumbing and heating systems.
- Experience with heating controls, hot water cylinders, radiators, and renewable heating technologies.
- Competent using hand tools and power tools.
- Ability to read technical drawings and installation plans.
- Welding or brazing experience is advantageous.
- Physical ability to carry out manual handling and heavy lifting.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Good maths skills and attention to detail.
- A positive attitude, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
