We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and motivated Housekeeper to join the team at One Hatfield Hospital.
As a Housekeeper, you will play an important role in maintaining a high-quality environment for our patients, visitors and colleagues. Working across inpatient and outpatient areas, you will ensure that excellent standards of cleanliness, hygiene and housekeeping are consistently achieved and maintained.
This is a hands-on role where attention to detail, a strong work ethic and a commitment to high standards are essential.
About the Role
Reporting to the Housekeeping and Porter Lead, your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out all housekeeping duties within your designated areas of the hospital.
- Cleaning a variety of areas, including theatres, outpatients, imaging, inpatient wards, day surgery, offices and staff areas.
- Ensuring cleaning tasks are completed to the required housekeeping standards.
- Following COSHH guidelines when handling and using cleaning products.
- Wearing the appropriate PPE and following infection prevention and health and safety requirements at all times.
- Completing all relevant documentation accurately for tasks undertaken during your shift.
- Monitoring stock levels and informing the team lead when supplies are running low.
- Supporting appropriate waste management throughout the hospital in line with national standards.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues while also being able to work independently when required.
- Contributing to a clean, safe and positive environment for patients, visitors and staff.

You will ideally have:

GCSEs in Maths and English or equivalent qualification.
- Previous housekeeping experience, with knowledge of COSHH regulations.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills.
- A flexible approach and the ability to respond positively to the changing needs of the department.
- An enthusiastic, passionate and collaborative approach to your work.
- A patient-focused attitude and commitment to continuous service improvement.
Previous housekeeping experience within a hospital environment would be desirable.
