REGISTERED NURSE – CHILDREN’S COMPLEX CARE

MAM Care Services Ltd is recruiting a Registered Nurse to join our specialist complex care team in Barnsley.
This is a school-hours position, providing 1:1 nursing support to a child with complex health needs. It is an excellent opportunity for a nurse looking for regular daytime hours while continuing to work in a clinically skilled, child-centred role.
Hours will start from 27 hours up till 45 hours a week as regular school time is adjusted for the clients needs.

The Role
As the child's Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering safe and effective clinical care in accordance with their individual care plan.
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing 1:1 nursing support during the school day
- Monitoring the child's clinical condition and recognising signs of deterioration
- Administration of prescribed medication
- Enteral feeding and management of feeding devices
- Respiratory assessment and support
- Seizure management and emergency interventions where required
- Supporting personal care and moving & handling
- Maintaining accurate clinical documentation
- Following individual emergency and escalation plans
- Working collaboratively with parents, school staff and the wider multidisciplinary team
- Promoting the child's independence, dignity, inclusion and quality of life
The exact clinical requirements will depend on the individual child, and full package-specific training and competency assessment will be provided before you work independently.
Who We're Looking For
You must:
- Be a Registered Nurse with a current NMC registration
- Have a strong commitment to delivering safe, child-centred care
- Be confident working independently within the community
- Have excellent communication and clinical observation skills
- Be reliable, compassionate and professional
- Be willing to undertake specialist clinical training and competency assessments
- Be available to work school-hour shifts in Barnsley
Experience in paediatric nursing, community nursing or complex care is desirable, but nurses from other clinical backgrounds with transferable skills and a genuine interest in children's complex care are encouraged to apply.
