Location: Nature's Little Learners, Starbeck, Harrogate, HG27LJ
Pay: £14.50 - £16.50 per hour (dependent on qualifications and experience)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Working Pattern: 4-day working week available

- 7:30am – 5:30pm
- 8:00am – 6:00pm

Nature's Little Learners is seeking an inspiring and passionate Preschool Room Leader to lead our busy preschool room of up to 30 children aged 3–5 years. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced early years professional who is passionate about children's learning, development, and school readiness.
We are particularly interested in candidates who hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS), or a relevant teaching qualification, although applications from exceptional Level 3 practitioners with leadership experience are warmly welcomed.

The Role
As our Preschool Room Leader, you will lead a team delivering outstanding care and education for children aged 3–5 years in line with the EYFS framework.
You will:
- Lead the daily operation of the preschool room
- Support, mentor and inspire a team of Early Years Practitioners
- Create a warm, nurturing and stimulating learning environment
- Plan and deliver engaging play-based learning experiences that support school readiness
- Promote children's communication and language, physical development, personal, social and emotional development, literacy and mathematics
- Monitor children's progress and support high-quality observations and assessments
- Act as a key person and build strong partnerships with families
- Use the Famly app to record learning and communicate with parents
- Ensure high standards of safeguarding, care and education
- Support continuous improvement and maintain excellent practice throughout the room

RequirementsEssential
- Minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification recognised by the DfE
- Previous experience working within an early years setting
- Experience leading, mentoring or supervising staff
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework
- Understanding of child development and school readiness
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- A warm, patient and nurturing approach
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS)
- Previous Preschool Room Leader experience
- Paediatric First Aid qualification
- Experience using Famly or a similar learning journal system
