On behalf of the MOD Navy Command, we are looking for a Senior Project Manager (Inside IR35) for a contract which runs up to the end of March 2027 and is a hybrid role so requires 1 day a week onsite at the Whale Ireland location

As a Senior Project Manager, your main responsibilities will be:
- Develop and implement the Project Management Plan (PMP)
- Lead and finalise the Scope of the programme
- Lead the preparation and submission of scrutiny approvals, ensuring compliance with MOD governance requirements.
- Define and manage the programme scope, objectives, and deliverables in line with the Defence Acquisition Framework (DAF).
- Establish and maintain the programme schedule, ensuring key milestones are met.
- Oversee the development and refinement of Key User Requirements (KUR), User Requirements Documents (URDs) and System Requirements Documents (SRDs).
- Lead stakeholder engagement, ensuring effective communication and alignment with Front-Line Commands (FLCs), DE&S, international and industry partners.
- Manage change control processes, ensuring changes to scope, schedule, or budget are properly approved and documented.
- Provide regular updates, reports, and presentations to project boards, senior stakeholders, and approval authorities.
- Capture and document lessons learned to improve future project delivery and processes.
- Plan and track progress of the programme to ensure an up to date picture is maintained, ensuring actions are progressed.
- Manage the product and risk management processes and ensure there is robust adherence to project management processes including planning, risk management, dependency management and change control.
Essential Skills
- Extensive experience in the delivery of large projects and programmes of work ideally within central government
- Experience in the delivery of business cases from scratch on a large project of work
- Stakeholder engagement at all levels
- Risk management, issues and dependencies as part of a busy role
- Commercial project management skills and experience
Qualifications
- APM project management qualification
