We are looking for a skilled Waiter to join our Bus Crew team and deliver an excellent service on our afternoon tea bus tours. Someone passionate about hospitality and driven by giving every customer a truly wonderful experience.
About the role:
You will work aboard one of our iconic 1960s Routemaster buses, serving customers a proper afternoon tea experience as we wind through central London. This is a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and the right candidate will bring the patience, resilience and warmth that great hospitality demands.
You will work closely with our Operations, Reservations and Kitchen teams to ensure every tour runs smoothly and accurately. Being a strong team player with clear, effective communication is essential to succeeding in this role.
Keep in mind that Bus Tour Crew duties require working in shifts during weekends.
Responsibilities
- Arrive punctually and prepared. Pre-tour setup is critical to ensuring an exceptional guest experience.
- Ensure the bus is fully equipped with all utensils and materials needed before each tour.
- Prepare tables and food setup with close attention to dietary requirements.
- Provide confident, detailed information on our seasonal menus, including ingredients, allergens and cross-contamination guidance.
- Take accurate drinks orders and offer thoughtful recommendations when needed.
- Greet and escort customers to their allocated seats inside the bus.
- Coordinate with the bus supervisor to maintain seamless service throughout the tour.
- Maintain the bus and all workstations tidy at all times during the tour.
- Comply with all relevant health and safety protocols while on duty, including our cleaning standards.
- Ensure guest satisfaction through outstanding hospitality.
Requirements
- Proven experience as waiting staff in a hospitality setting.
- Previous experience as a bus tour waiter is a plus.
- A good knowledge of London landmarks is an advantage.
- A good knowledge on food allergies and intolerances is an advantage
- Strong communication skills, both with customers and the wider team.
- Attentive, patient and genuinely caring towards the customers you serve.
- Well presented, professional and team-oriented at all times.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with the ability to perform well under pressure.
- Both Part-time and full-time availability are welcome.
