We are recruiting for a Rolling Stock Maintenance Technician to support our Team in York. We are looking for someone with strong electrical, mechanical and fault diagnosis experience. Rail experience is preferred but not essential as full training will be given.

You’ll make a difference by…

Performing routine maintenance, repairs, and basic fault-finding activities on rolling stock to ensure fleet reliability and delivery of the production plan.

Safely moving allocated rolling stock within depot limits and supporting operational activities to keep services running efficiently.

Identifying, ordering, and collecting the parts and materials needed to complete maintenance activities effectively.

Supporting the development of colleagues by sharing technical knowledge, best practices, and expertise across teams and sites.

Contributing to a safe, clean, and professional depot environment, including assisting with rolling stock cleaning when required.

Driving continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance processes, customer outcomes, and business performance.
Your success will be grounded by…

Rolling stock experience/ Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent experience.

Experience in documenting actions and operations accurately and to procedures

Good knowledge and understanding for cares of tools, equipment and PPE as appropriate

Knowledge of Health & Safety including bio-hazards, manual handling and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)

Ability to use a laptop for diagnostic, fault-finding and rectification purposes

Ability to understand and interpret relevant technical publications
