Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation, and maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene. Duties
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, providing guidance and support to ensure smooth daily operations
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes meet quality standards and are prepared efficiently
- Develop innovative menus that reflect current culinary trends and customer preferences
- Manage food safety protocols, hygiene standards, and compliance with health regulations
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of ingredients and kitchen supplies
- Monitor inventory levels, minimise waste, and control food costs effectively
- Train staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, and service procedures
- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and served promptly to optimise customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment at all times
- Assist in serving customers when necessary, providing excellent hospitality
Requirements
- Proven experience in a senior culinary role, ideally as a Head Chef or Sous Chef within a reputable restaurant or hospitality setting
- Strong supervising experience with the ability to manage a diverse kitchen team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food production, preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation skills
- Solid understanding of food safety standards and hygiene regulations (HACCP certification preferred)
- Excellent leadership qualities with the ability to motivate staff and foster teamwork
- Demonstrated experience in menu development and food innovation
- Exceptional organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Previous restaurant experience is essential; hospitality background is highly desirable
- Good communication skills with a professional attitude towards service excellence
Pay: £12.71-£14.00 per hour
