The Role
As a Resource Base SEND Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider staff team to support pupils with a range of special educational needs. You will help deliver personalised learning, encourage independence and ensure pupils can access the curriculum in a way that meets their individual needs.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small group support for pupils within the resource base.
- Delivering targeted interventions to support learning, communication and social development.
- Adapting activities and resources to meet individual learning needs.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive relationships.
- Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
- Assisting pupils during integration into mainstream classroom activities where appropriate.
- Working collaboratively with teachers, parents and external professionals.
- Monitoring progress and celebrating pupils' achievements.
- Helping to create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
