The Education Futures Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Outdoor Learning Facilitator to join our team. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to use outdoor environments as a platform for learning, personal development and wellbeing, working with children, young people and local communities across Hastings and Rother.
Working both in schools and outdoor settings, you will design and deliver engaging activities that encourage confidence, resilience, teamwork and a connection with the natural environment.
About the Role
Please note this is a term time contract.
As an Outdoor Learning Facilitator, you will:
- Plan, deliver and lead high-quality outdoor learning, adventurous and environmental activities.
- Support children and young people, including those with additional support needs and social, emotional or behavioural challenges.
- Build positive relationships with participants, schools, families and partner organisations.
- Carry out risk assessments and maintain high standards of health and safety.
- Maintain equipment and resources.
- Monitor, evaluate and report on programme outcomes.
- Work collaboratively as part of a passionate and energetic team.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
- Has recent experience delivering outdoor learning programmes for children and young people.
- Has experience supporting individuals with additional or complex needs.
- Is passionate about nature, active lifestyles and environmental education.
- Holds a Level 3 Forest School qualification – essential
- Holds a AET/teacher training qualification - desirable
- Holds a valid First Aid qualification (or willing to work towards).
- Has experience of risk assessment and managing health and safety in outdoor settings.
- Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Holds a full, clean driving licence and can travel independently between sites.
Additional qualifications in outdoor education, woodland learning, beach schools, climbing, canoeing, kayaking, biking or similar disciplines would be highly advantageous.
