Care Assistant Opportunities – Austen Court Care Home
Austen Court is looking for dedicated, compassionate and reliable Care Assistants to join our team.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide high standards of personal care while supporting residents with their physical, emotional, cultural, and social needs through a person-centred approach. You will help promote dignity, independence, privacy, choice, and wellbeing while building positive relationships with residents, families, and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Support residents with daily living activities and personal care
- Promote dignity, respect, privacy, and independence at all times
- Assist with care planning and contribute to individual support plans
- Act as a key worker for allocated residents where required
- Work as part of the care team to deliver excellent standards of care
- Prepare meals and drinks, taking into account dietary, cultural, and nutritional needs
- Use moving and handling equipment safely and correctly
- Maintain accurate and detailed care records
- Build positive and professional relationships with residents and families
- Support colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment
General Duties
- Maintain a professional appearance and wear the correct uniform
- Attend regular team meetings
- Complete in-house and external training as required
- Undertake additional duties appropriate to the role when needed
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Minimum NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent), or willingness to work towards
- Minimum 6 months’ experience in a care, support, or service-related setting
- Compassionate, dependable, and committed to high-quality care
Shift Patterns & Hours
- 8:00am – 8:00pm Day Shifts
- 8:00pm – 8:00am Night Shifts
- Weekend availability required
- 22-hour or 33-hour contracts available
