Mechanical Mate / Labourer – HS2 Old Oak Common Project
Overview
We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Mechanical Mate / Labourer to join our team on the HS2 Old Oak Common Project. The successful candidate will support Mechanical Fitters with the installation of Victaulic and Mapress pipework systems, ductwork, and plantroom equipment, ensuring work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Assist Mechanical Fitters with the installation of Victaulic and Mapress pipework systems.

Support ductwork installation activities in accordance with project requirements.

Assist with the movement, loading, unloading, and positioning of materials and equipment.

Prepare work areas and ensure materials, tools, and equipment are readily available.

Carry out general labouring duties to support mechanical installation activities.

Maintain good housekeeping standards and keep work areas clean, safe, and organised.

Follow site health and safety procedures at all times.

Work collaboratively with supervisors, fitters, engineers, and other trades to support project delivery.
Requirements
-
Previous experience as a Mechanical Mate, Labourer, or Construction Operative on construction or infrastructure projects.

Basic understanding of mechanical building services installations, including pipework and ductwork, is desirable.

Willingness to learn and support mechanical installation activities.

Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team.

Good awareness of health, safety, and quality standards.

Valid JIB/ECS/CSCS card (or relevant site certification).

Previous experience on major infrastructure, rail, or construction projects is advantageous.

About the Anthro JV:
The Anthro joint venture between Egis and VVB Engineering will provide comprehensive turn-key services for London’s state-of-the-art HS2 gateway station at Old Oak Common. We have been awarded a multi-year contract to deliver MEPHFC (Mechanical, Electrical Public Health, Fire and Communications) systems works.
